Best New York Fashion Week Collections

With the London Fashion week already halfway done, we have yet to talk about the New York one. Fall 2018 Ready-to-Wear collections were as unpredictable and shocking in a good way, as always. With some of them being more of a political statement rather than fashion, some of them taking a completely different turn than expected, we sat down and made a list of our favorite shows from this season. Take a quick glimpse at what NYFW has given us.

Marc Jacobs

Having the reputation of unpredictable and a bit of over the top collections, Marc Jacobs firmly proved it to us once again. The only word that comes to mind looking at this masterpiece is ‘heavy’. Bold, oversized shoulders, massive hats, huge belts and pleated pants - that’s what brings up the heaviness we are talking about. Inspired by the 80’s couture, designer enlarged and enhanced the details that were ‘in’ almost 40 years ago.

Rosie Assoulin

A bit more everyday wearable collection than the recent one. With a mixture of light and heavy fabrics, never before seen patterns, a touch of bold colors and interesting silhouettes, Rosie Assoulin showed us the most of her feminine side. Practicality and comfort was compensated by designers’ charm and imagination in this collection.

Badgley Mischka

The duo of Mark Badgley and James Mischka were one of the guests’ favorites in all of the NYFW. And that is not surprising at all. Starting with red and black checked sequined pieces (new trend alert for an upcoming season, ladies) and gradually moving towards beautiful evening gowns, designers made some serious must have pieces. From floral lacy dresses to golden bronzy suits, we want everything.

Anna Sui

With Bella and Gigi Hadid’s opening the show, this specific collection was a true fan favorite. There was SO MUCH going on, but we loved it! Fanny packs making a comeback and climbing up to the top of trend list, cute and cozy knits, fishnet, floral tights and platform shoes somehow made a pleasant to watch chaos. The main attention was directed to details and accessories, but, of course, the variety of coats has not been left unrecognized.
