Here's Why You Should Stop Buying From Fast Fashion Stores
Fast-fashion is so last-century. Yes, we know that buying from fast fashion stores is as easy as going to Mcdonald‘s instead of having a homemade dinner, but it might have even worse consequences for not only you, but the ones around you.
It's harmful for the environment
It‘s hard to care about the environment when you‘re holding a trendy 7$ shirt in your hands. But try and think about what time will it take to disintegrate for all of these pieces on sale. You will probably wear this shirt a couple of times and there will be nothing more left to do than just dump it in the bin because of it‘s condition. But have in mind that there are MILLIONS of people who are doing the same thing at the moment. Just so you know, only Americans alone send 10 million tons of clothing to the dump each year. That‘s crazy, right?
People work under poor conditions to make fast fashion
The clothes that you are wearing right now are most likely made by a person who can‘t support themselves fully. Cheap clothing prices mean that the workers miles away are being paid way less than a minimum wage or nothing even. There are many women working just to keep themselves out of the starvation.
You are most likely to spend more
The only people who actually gain something from cheap clothes are not the buyers, but the sellers. At the exact moment of buying, you are probably thinking about what a great deal you are getting, but not about that you will have to come back and buy another piece in a short period of time. It is not a secret that the quality of cheap clothes is poor, so you will need to re-buy that t-shirt you just bought in a couple of wears and this way spend double the amount of money. Or you will just get so overwhelmed with the sales that you won‘t notice buying more than needed.
It is better to invest
We recommend you investing in good quality items that will last you seasons, rather than buying cheap alternatives. It might feel a bit wrong buying a pair of jeans costing double the amount than you just saw in a fast fashion store, but over time and over many washed-out jeans later, you will notice saving a lot of money.
