The Ultimate Guide To The LBD
Hunting down the best little black dress you can find is like discovering your very own holy grail. A treasure you will keep and wear pretty much forever. It can save you from wardrobe meltdowns and disasters, it goes with every occasion and it always always flatters. The LBD was created in 1926 by none other than the iconic Coco Chanel and was specially designed for a Vogue special and was named 'the frock that the world will wear. It was the first dress to have a modern vibe to it and still to this date is the most popular and essential piece in a women's wardrobe. The reason for this is because of its neutral colour and it looks good on anyone regardless of size, shape and age. Since its debit in 1926, the LBD has become iconic and everyone from Audrey Hepburn in Breakfast at Tiffany's from Angelina Jolie's Atelier Versace in 2012. No wardrobe in complete without a LBD and here we have some of our favourite on the market now.
Whether you are on a budget or looking to splurge, there is a LBD for everyone. I love a black dress with a little detail for a little something extra and one of my favourite attributes is lace. Lace really gives a whole new view on the dress and makes it stand out from the rest.
Here are my all time favs. Some are a bit more simple and can even work in summer with some sandals on a romantic beach evening dinner. Others are very winter chic but still super comfortable. But then there is the real splurger, with a high priced label and Alice in Wonderland inspired heart shape, this dress is for a real girly girl. Splurge on this Italian made Elie Saab dress and you will be the stunner at the party.
