These Easy Steps Will Keep You Trim On The Road

Thinking of hitting the road next Summer but are afraid you might gain those few extra pounds while you are at it?  

Well here at Folie we know that It is super easy to fall into a holiday rut, but still, indulging in some of the cultures local dishes and treats or just getting gelato at the end of a long hot day in Europe is all part of your travel experience, and something you shouldn't have to feel guilty about.

Fear not, you don’t have to hit the gym every single day to keep slim. There are many other great, even fun, alternatives for working off that gelato or large meal you had the night before. So here are some tips and tricks that you can use on your next adventure!

1. Walk everywhere! Try getting your step count to 7-10,000 steps a day. Forget public transport and taxis (unless it is too far), put your walking shoes on or even rent a bike! 

2. Take a scenic hike or start your day with some water activities. Grab the canoe or stand up paddle board and take a couple hours to explore beaches and lakes. You might come across a few treasures!

3. Shower squats! Before hopping in the shower, or whilst you're in the shower smash out 50 squats. Remember no pain, no gain!

4. Drink lots of water. This is super important, especially if you are planning on walking a lot, with these hot temperatures.

5. Pack resistance bands. These can be used literally at any given time. Whip these bad boys out in your hostel/hotel room for a quick power session.

6. If there is a gym at your hotel take the effort to fit in a quick session.

7. Indulge but don’t over indulge. Portion control is important when having an unhealthy meal.
